The team captain serves as a representative for Bold Idea and leader of their coding club volunteer team. He/She is an organized leader for both volunteers and students.
Open only to volunteers with at least 1 semester of mentoring experience with Bold Idea
Other responsibilities include - -Time Commitment: 2 hours per week (4 for camps) w/ 1 live training and 2 team meetings at the start and end of each semester. - Requirements: Complete a background check & attend training. - Assist in Mentor Recruitment at your company (DISD Teams). - Lead coding club sessions each week including but not limited to brain breaks, demos, and welcoming periods.. - Virtual Clubs: Prepare, and assist students and mentors with video conferencing technology (zoom) for each session - - Communicate with mentors weekly about absences and student progress. . - Coordinate with Bold Idea staff and fellow volunteers to ensure proper coverage for the club each week.. - Other duties as assigned by the Bold Idea Program Team..
